The Melbourne Art Festival is a nationally recognized event held each year on the fourth full weekend in April in historic downtown Melbourne, Florida. Admission is free.

Some 250 artists from across the country have converged in downtown Melbourne for the 32nd annual Melbourne Art Festival, displaying a host of 2-D and 3-D art, some of which is entered in competition and others that are up for sale.

Tens of thousands were expected downtown this past weekend to witness the art and take part in the festival.

Prior to the show on Saturday morning, the 29th annual Flamingo 5K Run/Walk was held with the route beginning on Melbourne Avenue and winding along Crane Creek and over the Melbourne Causeway before it ended near the main stage of the Art Show.

Next year, the festival will move to Wickham Park.

“What I see in our need to expand to go to Wickham Park is the parking. We have such limited space for our artists to park,  specifically. They travel from so far to be here and we get here and there is no place for them to go. There is no place for them to put their artwork safely without having an issue,” said Grant.

“Wherever they’re going, I’m going. I’ll follow the show,” added Jenkins.

The show and the entertainment continue on Sunday.

The festival also offers a scholarship program to help qualifying Brevard County students of visual arts attend programs.

Those interested in more information on the scholarship program and the fair itself should visit melbournearts.org.

Benjamin Stern, CEO and founder of Nohbo, presented his product on the hit TV show “Shark Tank” in February and received a deal from Mark Cuban.

Benjamin Stern, CEO and founder of Nohbo, presented his product on the hit TV show “Shark Tank” in February and received a deal from Mark Cuban.

Viera, FL — A 16-year-old from Viera created a concept so unique that Mark Cuban decided to invest in his company.

Benjamin Stern, CEO and founder of Nohbo, was on the hit TV show “Shark Tank” in February and received a deal from Cuban.

Cuban gave him $100,000 for 25 percent of his company, and the business has grown since then.

But what is Nohbo?

Nohbu is a soft, powdered ball that disintegrates into a shampoo that is sulfate and paraben free. Each Nohbo Ball is wrapped in a biodegradable plant-based material.

“I’ve seen my Mom use those Tide pods before, and I was like ‘isn’t there anything like this for shampoo?'” said Stern.

Stern came up with Nohbo at the age of 14, and he’s been working ever since to make his dream come true. He found a chemist and then pitched his idea to several major companies like Clorox.

He then went on Shark Tank, where he received three offers. He chose Mark Cuban’s offer.

“Mark Cuban has given me all of his attorneys, all of his accountants, he set up our website, he has done so many things,” said Stern.

With the help of Cuban and the exposure on the show, Nohbo is seeing success.

“We have been contacted by two of the largest hotel distributors in North America to carry our lines,” said Stern. “One of them sells over 2 to 3 billion of those shampoo bottles and they want us to replace them.”

Benjamin is still attending Viera High School while juggling his duties as CEO and founder of his company.
